Woburn, MA – May 2004 - When Disneyland
wanted to find a better solution to the cryogenic piping equipment
they currently used for fogging techniques they called upon Vacuum
Barrier Corporation for assistance.
Liquid Nitrogen fogging is used because it has a high rate of
vaporization, providing quick, high velocity discharge of white
vapor which vanishes in a short time. The results are dramatic
and do not interfere with the on stage talent. This type of fogging
is preferred over using CO2 or other combustible fog canisters
because they produce a dense rolling fog that remains on stage
for a long period of time.
Vacuum Barrier Alliance, the sole West
Coast distributor of Vacuum Barrier Corporation Cryogenic equipment
recommended CobraFlex® vacuum
insulated flexible liquid nitrogen hose. The hose was supplied
in shorter lengths with bayonets and was attached to portable
dewars. This, combined with the hoses bendable nature, allowed
the system to be custom fitted for each attraction with great
ease. In addition, the liquid nitrogen is controlled by the lighting
director by use of a solenoid valve and delivered through a metal
diffuser assembly producing the desired fogging effect with quick
vaporization.
CobraFlex®, available in 3/8” and 5/8”, can
be combined with SEMIFLEX®, to provide efficient connections
to all use points.
Vacuum Barrier Corporation has designed, engineered and fabricated
cryogenic equipment in their Woburn, Massachusetts facility since
